To import data from an Excel sheet to Microsoft CRM the data must be saved as CSV file. The first step for an import job is to create an Data Mapping. For this Data Mapping you need a sample data CSV file. If you save an Excel sheet as CSV file by using the „Save as“ Dialog Excel always the CSV file with a tab as separating char.
Microsoft CRM needs therefore a comma as separating char. So it is not possible to use the generated file as sample file for the Data Mapping. The only possibility to prepare the file is to open it in a text editor and replace all tabs with comma. Then you can use the file as sample file. It’s obvious that this way isn’t nice so we developed an Excel Add-In that generates a CSV file right.
The Add-In provides you the possibility to determine which letter you want to use for limiting fields and also which letter should encapsulate the values.
In the ZIP archive you can find an ReadMe with further information to install and use the Add-In.
